Privacy Policy
Starter privacy language for BahamaBooking based on the platform's current account, payment, payout, booking, and support functionality. This is a working draft and can be refined later.
Effective date: April 19, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how BahamaBooking and Bahama Ventures Inc. collect, use, and store information when you use the platform. It reflects the app as it exists today, including account creation, sign-in, payments, payouts, messaging-related workflows, and support/help experiences.
By using BahamaBooking, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
2. Information you provide
When you create or manage an account, we may collect details such as your name, email address, password-based authentication credentials through Firebase Authentication, account type, profile information, phone number, address information, and notification preferences or defaults.
If you choose to become a host or partner, we may also collect host onboarding details and payout information such as PayPal email or wire transfer fields including Swift/BIC, account number, routing number, and branch number where applicable.
3. Information collected automatically
We may automatically receive technical and usage information such as account metadata, sign-in timing, device/browser context, page interactions, and similar diagnostics used to keep the app working and secure.
If analytics or related services are enabled in future environments, we may also receive additional usage data through those services.
4. How we use information
We use your information to create and secure your account, support bookings and reservations, store profile settings, process or support payments and payouts, surface account activity, and improve platform operations.
We may also use information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot errors, comply with legal obligations, communicate important service updates, and support guest, host, and partner workflows.
5. Payments and processors
Payments and stored card methods are handled through Stripe and related payment workflows. BahamaBooking does not intentionally store raw card numbers or security codes in its own application database.
When you use payment features, relevant data may be processed by Stripe according to Stripe’s own privacy and security practices.
6. When information may be shared
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the platform, such as authentication, database, hosting, analytics, payment, communications, or onboarding providers.
We may also disclose information when necessary to enforce our terms, protect users, respond to legal requests, investigate misuse, or as part of a business transaction involving Bahama Ventures Inc.
7. Storage and security
BahamaBooking currently uses Firebase services for authentication and user data storage, and may use additional infrastructure providers over time. We take reasonable steps to limit access to information to what is needed for platform operation.
No platform can promise absolute security, so you should also protect your account by using a strong password and keeping your login details confidential.
8. Your choices and account controls
You can review and update certain account information through your account settings, including personal information, password changes, payment methods, and host payout preferences where available.
Some settings are not yet fully editable in product. As the app evolves, we may provide more ways to access, update, or remove your information.
9. Data retention
We may retain information for as long as needed to operate the platform, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business records.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and the operational or legal reason for keeping it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BahamaBooking expands its product and operations. If we make material changes, we may post an updated version on the site together with a revised effective date.
Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.
